MURUGAPPA POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE has emerged as a Polytechnic College of Excellence during the past five decades. It was started in August 1957 as a Government Aided Institution by AMM Foundation previously known as AMM Charities Trust, Chennai. The Institution is situated on a 12.5-hectare campus in the western part of Chennai on the Chennai – Tiruvallore High Road and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education.

Management

The Managing Trustee and Trustees of AMM Foundation are leading industrialists of Murugappa Group of Companies. The Trust was created by the illustrious sons of the Late Dewan Bahadur AM Murugappa Chettiar. The Governing Council constituted as per the AICTE and Directorate of Technical Education guidelines, is the Supreme Administrative authority of the institution, the Chairman of the Council being the Managing Trustee of AMM Foundation. The Correspondent appointed by the Council transacts the day-to-day activities of the institution.
